Xtralis VESDA VLF detector

Xtralis VESDA products are life-safety devices. They should be installed, commissioned and maintained only by Accredited Distributors. Please contact us to find out who your local Accredited Distributors are.


Product models

The information displayed on this page relates to the following model numbers:

VLF 500-00, VLF 500-01, VLF 500-02, VLF 500-03, VLF 250-00, VLF 250-01, VLF 250-02 and VLF 250-03.

 

Recommended upgrade

All Xtralis VESDA VLF (VLF-250) detectors with serial numbers* lower than 222415 must be upgraded before they can be networked with a VESDAnet interface card.

Although this upgrade is recommended for all VLF-250 detectors, only those units to be fitted with interface cards require upgrading.

How to upgrade

  1. Download and read the Technical Tip that contains step-by-step instructions.
  2. If you need to transfer/maintain the configuration of an installed VLF-250 which is being upgraded then download Version 2.03.01 (see below) of the VESDA System Configurator software (skip this step if default settings or manual re-entry of any configuration data is acceptable).
  3. Download the Firmware Upgrade kit.
  4. Download Version 2.04.02 or later of the VESDA System Configurator software. But do NOT install it until you have completed using Version 2.03.01. You can only have one version of VSC installed on your PC at a time.
  5. Follow the instructions in the Technical Tip.

*The serial number on a VLF-250 detector is located on the approvals and ratings label on the underside of the detector.

 

** Two versions of VSC are REQUIRED if you want to keep the same detector configuration after upgrade. You cannot install two different versions of VSC on the same PC at the same time. You must install one version, then uninstall it before installing the second version.

 

Software downloads:

VSC version 2.03.01 (Save this version to your hard disk and select Open when the download is complete).

You can only have one version of VSC installed on your PC at a time.

 

Firmware upgrade kit

 

Lastest version of VSC (Save this version to your hard disk and only install it when you need this version).

You can only have one version of VSC installed on your PC at a time.
